Gifts to the Children's Aid Foundation help support the services and operations of Children's Aid Society.
Children's Aid Society is a conscientious steward of the funds awarded to it and of the generous gifts of its benefactors. Our financial plan is focused on solid investment performance as well as maintaining funding for our obligations and programs.
The people we serve must have total confidence in our ability to fulfill our mission with integrity. That is why we have adopted a set of ethical principles and procedures which guide our governance, fundraising, and programs.
For our donors, we have adopted the Donor Bill of Rights, endorsed by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). This allows our donors to invest with confidence in the well-being of children. The Donor Bill of Rights can be found on the AFP website at http://www.afpnet.org/ethics/.
Our accounting procedures, controls, and reporting are in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Council on Accreditation (COA) standards, and child-placing licensing requirements of The State of Alabama Department of Human Resources (SDHR).
