Adoptive Family Services


Providing education and support to strengthen and empower Alabama's adoptive families. APAC services are provided at no charge to eligible adoptive an/or foster families.

  • The largest adoption library in the state of Alabama. Resources can be checked out online and shipped anywhere in Alabama.

  • APAC conducts state-wide training events as well as live, interactive webinars for families and professionals to increase their understanding of adoption-related subjects. Find a training that fits your needs with conferences, webinars, and an extensive adoption resource library. In-person training is also available state-wide upon request.

  • APAC special events are provided as informal networking opportunities for adoptive families to get acquainted and be supported by one another. Parents and children meet, share, learn new things and have a great time.

  • APAC offers groups that meet throughout the state, providing education and social interaction for adoptive families. The groups are led by a therapist, and topics for discussion are chosen based on the group's interests and needs.

  • APAC provides statewide counseling to help with family adjustment and crisis counseling.

  • Annual 4-day camp each year for adopted children and their siblings ages 9-18. Campers get the opportunity to spend time with other kids with similar backgrounds, while parents enjoy a time of respite.

  • Join our Facebook group, "APAC Adoption Support Network!" It is available for all adoptive parents living in Alabama. This closed (and private) group, is a great place for parents to connect and share resources and information with one another.

  • Adoptive parents can request a Mentor and be paired with another adoptive parent for emotional support related to adoption adjustment.
