2012 Permanency Conference

Professionals serving foster and adoptive families often face unique challenges in providing services to their consumers. In order to support and educate those DHR staff and professionals, APAC coordinates a statewide Permanency Conference. The conference is held annually and provides workshops and keynote speakers addressing a variety of issues related to foster care and adoption.

Conference Fees

Department of Human Resources Slot Allotments = FREE
Non-DHR Conference Attendees = $99.00
Current APAC Contract Staff = $79.00

Fee includes conference workshops, CEUs, daytime meals, and registration gift bag.


Registration, workshops, and meals take place at the Hilton Birmingham.

Social Work and LPC CEUs will be awarded at the end of each workshop. Up to 11 will be available.

State DHR will reimburse mileage for staff slot allotments. However, only one staffer for every four from a county may claim this expense. We encourage you to carpool or split costs.

Evening meals will not be provided at the conference. Vouchers will be provided to DHR staff who are away from base for more than 12 hours on Wednesday and Thursday.
